and collective efort to give structure to an idea. Te usefulness of e-books, CD’s and internet is immense for students and can, in fact, take their learning to an altogether diferent level. Students do not have to depend on the teacher for all the answers and in this regard, digital revolution has changed the contours of education. Intangible Factors: In any organization, one is dealing with humans and there is a need for an organic connect to bind them together. A strategy, which may work perfectly for an idea may not work at all for another. In a lot of school settings, there are diferent committees formed to look into various areas of concern. Te school system supports these forums to provide an opportunity to get things sorted out through dialogue and interventions. Organizational settings are redundant if there is no element of trust among the diferent stakeholders. Trust is a two-way process and it takes time to build. Sometimes, perception overtakes reality and we form an infated image of students in our minds. We sometimes angelize a student’s demeanor and are caught on the wrong foot. When students don’t match up to the teacher’s expectations in terms of preparedness and performance, there is an element of unhappiness and despair. Different Forums: Learning is enriched and extended through debates. Students put forward their view points together as a team, for or against the given topic. Varied ideas are connected and converge around the topic and circumvent rebuttal in a cohesive manner. We may talk about mock parliaments, MUNs or role plays for that matter, school plays, one act plays etc. Tese are diferent ways which provide students ample opportunity to hone their individual skills on the premise that the group objective is achieved. It is not only interpersonal skill which is enhanced but also intra-personal skills which are strengthened incrementally. Out Bound Programmes: Experiential learning adds to the inventory of learning by adding diferent dimensions. Students learn from their peers and the notion of care and share is consolidated when students go for an out bound programmes. Tere is a lot of learning which happens during these trips. When students move as a group, their infuence on each other is immense and this happens in myriad ways. Te visit may be to an observatory or a historically, politically, socially important place or a place of literary importance. It all depends upon what is the take away from these excursions. Tis is in fact a joyful learning which a lot of students looks forward to during their academic journey in school. Student and Teacher Exchange Programmes: Student exchange programmes add a layer of cultural learning in the setting .Te teacher and taught, who come and go on an exchange programme, unfold their learning in diferent educational settings. Te impact of the exchange programme is tremendous and lots of schools are encouraging it. Moreover, it adds value to individual learning in particular and education in general. Integrating Work and Learning: A school setting provides sufcient opportunity to learn and grow in diferent ways. Te new ideas unleash diferent sets of rules for the game and as educators; we cannot aford to be left behind in the process of global change that is happening in the educational feld. Te day to day functioning of the school provides enough challenges and opportunities to students and staf, to demonstrate preparedness and perhaps give a direction to achieve or aspire for.
